WATERTIGHT
A water awareness program for
primary schools
This special Environmental Education program was devised by Observatory Hill Environmental Education Centre and trailed at Annandale Public School. The program was designed to raise awareness of water conservation and wastewater management in the everyday operations of a primary school.
The Watertight program allowed the entire school to spend a full day on curriculum units with a “hands on” mode of delivery. During the day students investigated many aspects of water and wastewater management.
It is anticipated that strategies devised by the students relating to water awareness will become part of the school’s resource management and integrated into classroom learning.
