Concert 2009 |
The school Swimming Carnival for 2009 was held at Ashfield Pool. As it was one of the warmer days of February the children were very pleased to be in the pool competing and cooling off. The day began with the 25 metre freestyle age events, then the 50 metre freestyle age events, followed by the 50 metre form strokes. From the 50 metre events a squad was selected based on qualifying times set by the Balmain PSSA, to represent the school at Ashfield Pool on the 10th of March. The day was not all formal events. The novelty events were the domain of the House Captains. They were required to organise junior and senior teams for pool tunnel ball and baton relays. These events were hotly contested and congratulations must go to the House Captains and Vice Captains for their organisation of the teams and leading the children in War Cries. The winning house for 2009 was Johnston thanks to the excellent participation of it’s members. We wish the children competing at the Balmain Carnival on the 10th of March every success. |
