Glossary:

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of COUNTRY
Each week in assembly and at other gatherings we acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation who are the traditional custodians of this land.

CONNECTED CLASSROOM
A classroom in the school which is equiped with a large television, interactive whiteboard and video conferencing facilities. This will allow video conferencing between schools throughout New South Wales, further enhancing children's learning as well as providing opportunities for teacher's professional development.

HARMONY DAY
A special day in March to celebrate inclusivity and diversity in our school and the world.

ICT
Information and Communication Technology
The school integrates ICT into Key Learning Areas and is fortunate to have interactive whiteboards within the classrooms to facilitate and enhance this process.

KLA or KLAs
Key Learning Area, or Key Learning Areas.
This refers to the curriculum areas such as Literacy, Numeracy, HSIE, Science & Technology, Music etc.

MATHLETICS and SPELLODROME
Web-based Maths and Spelling Programs in which children can participate and compete against others around the world; they can do this both at school and at home.

MUFTI Day
An out of uniform day and usually for fundraising (gold coin) purposes.

P&C
The Parents and Citizens Association is the main fundraising arm of the school and meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the staffroom at 7.30pm.

PRESENTATION DAY
Held in December to acknowledge the effort and achievements of children in all areas.

SCRIPTURE
Scripture or religious education is available to children once per week if their parents/carers give permission.

SRC
Student Representative Council
Two representatives from each class are elected by their peers each semester to be part of the decision-making council or senate.
