Mrs Ferres

2L, 2M and 3R have been learning about African
animals. In particular the Okapi and the Lion.

The Okapi

2L and 2M have been learning about the Okapi. An okapi is a very unusual animal.  It has white and black striped hindquarters and front legs like a zebra.  The head looks a lot like the head of a giraffe.  It is actually the only living relative of the giraffe.

They have very good hearing and their long tongue helps them strip buds and young leaves from the lower storey brush of the rainforests they inhabit.
