This term 6c’s topic was World War One. One of our tasks was to create a fact sheets. Here are some of the facts we discovered.

We found that the temperature of Gallipoli is around 20 to 30 degrees
Celsius.
Red poppies which grew wild on the battle fields now symbolize the blood of
soldiers lost.
Wild Rosemary grew around the peninsular and is now a symbol of
remembrance for Australian soldiers.
Approximately a quarter of the Australian soldiers were under age. These
young men lied about their age so they could go off on a great adventure.
45,000 Australian men died.

We also found pictures and comments explaining war from the Internet.

We also wrote poems in which we expressed our thoughts and feelings as if we were actually going to the war ourselves. We then we published them and these are some of our poems:
